Master of my domain

Quick note, loyal peeps:

I have my own domain name!  I think you can still reach me through, but for ease you can now find me at http:/  Nifty!

Also, I learned how to do this today.
That's my daughter.  Isn't she cute?

Squeeeeee!  Yes, it's totally scrap-booky and yes, I am a little embarrassed at how much I enjoyed doing this.

I'm happy to show you how you can sass up your blog photos, too.  Let me know in the comments if this interests you and I'll figure out how to create a tutorial.

(By the way, this is what attention-deficit people do instead of editing or sending out essays, writing their columns, laundry, and eating meals.)

  1. what program let you do the writing and the little heart thing? I must know!

Also, welcome to the world of Blog Ownership, which is not nearly as glamorous as Home Ownership or as harried as Small Business Ownership, but still pretty cool.

  2. Thank you for the kind welcome.

The program is It's FREE and works pretty much like an easy, no frills Photoshop. I bought the background from a digital scrapbook site: Is it fab?!

I'm serious about a tutorial. It will give me an excuse to learn how to do that.

Ask me if I've edited any of my last packet for residency or submissions. Go ahead, ask me. NO I BLOODY WELL HAVEN'T. I'm also out of clean underwear. But ... I can now put hearts (or birds) on things. Yay!

    1. I was out of clean underwear last week. So I bought more. Pathetic? Oh yes, my friend, but the washers in our building smell like cat urine, so I don't trust them. This means that I only do laundry when I visit my parents, so Carter and I always look a little "hobo-ish." But I'm calling it "Bohemian" and telling everyone that I meant to dress in that way.

Checking out that software now. You've inspired me. And soon I shall have pretty buttons. *maniacal laugh*

And Packet schmacket. You'll do it the way we Spaldingtons always do - 3 days before the deadline, cracked out on coffee, sobbing about a lack of discipline, and bribing/threatening your spouse to cook you white cheddar shells and cheese. If you're anything like me, that is.

    2. Since I'm not actually on deadline for a packet, just thinking about how I should be more disciplined with my writing in general, I'll take this as an I'm doing okay moment of reflection. Thanks!

Let me know if you need a lifeline back from the rabbit hole that is photo editing. I'm here to retrieve you if you need me.

  3. That's so cute and I love the background!

Confession: I spent a large portion of today downloading photo editing apps on my iPhone instead of cleaning or eating..or really anything else, if we're honest. :)

    1. Jennifer,
It's good to know I'm not the only obsessive-compulsive out there!
We'll clean and eat tomorrow (or find more photo editing freeware!).

Comments for me? Thanks a bunch!
